Today I
talked about my final project to Gabriella that is really helpful. She helped
me to do research on ACM and find automation videos in patience. Fortunately, she has friends
working on charity for Africa. She is going to ask them if they are interesting
with my project they could help.
Here are
the articles we found with key words" automation, charity installation and
philanthropy."
1. "Charitable
technologies: opportunities for collaborative computing in nonprofit
fundraising 2008"
"This
paper presents research analysing the role of computational technology in the
domain of nonprofit fundraising. In this paper, we identify six roles that computational technology
plays in support of nonprofit fundraising and present two models characterising technology use in this domain: (1) a cycle of technology-assisted fundraising
and (2) a model of relationships among stakeholders in technology-assisted
fundraising. Finally, we identify challenges and research opportunities for
collaborative computing in the unique and exciting nonprofit fundraising
domain." The authors are famous academics: Jeremy Goecks, Any Voida, Stephen Voida and Elizabeth Mynatt.
2. " Dona: urban donation
motivating robot 2010"
"The rate of donations made by individuals is relatively low in Korea
when compared to other developed countries. To address this problem, we propose
the DONA, an urban donation motivating robot prototype. The robot roams around
in a public space and solicits donation from passers-by by engaging them through
a pet like interaction. In this paper, we present the prototype of the robot
and our design process."
The technology I purposed to use in my project are Arduino, PD, Processing, flash. I think the automaton, which is suggested by Gabriella, is a good idea. We found a dancing sunflower that the flower disk can move follow light and music. It's amazing.
